Science has been vital to human life for as long as we have been on earth. From striking rocks to create fire in the Stone Age up to the present Digital Age, technology has made our lives more comfortable and allowed us to explore the globe. Yet we have also explored the spiritual, and tried to ask the basic questions about who we are, what we are and what our purpose on earth is.

This urge to explore the why and how of things used to be all-encompassing: philosophers were also scientists, breaking barriers in matters of faith and simultaneously unearthing new ground in science. Today, however, scientific and spiritual thought are separated, by barriers set up by men, even though both seek to quench that thirst for knowledge that drives us and gives us no rest until we find.

Science itself is pushing us towards convergence, whether with Big Data or the Internet-of-Things, a looming recognition that all things are connected. Does this direction not point towards the spirit as the actual connection and thus the right basis not just for the future of science, but also the future of mankind.

This theme will be explored in depth, with a view to offering a wholesome perspective and therefore answers to many pertinent questions.
